Gold slides to $1,159; Brent retreats below $80 - Gold closed lower today as the precious metal may face more selling pressure in the coming days. Gold prices slipped $3.90 to finish at $1,159.10 an ounce. In other metals, December silver surrendered 6 cents at $15.62 an ounce. January platinum lost $1.40 to $1,205.30 an ounce, while December palladium increased $0.95 to $773.65 an ounce. High-grade copper for December delivery inched down a penny to $3.03 a pound.
