Good Morning. What an awesome God we serve. In Zeph. 3:17, God is reminding us this morning that He in our midst. The prophet said, “The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.” While the children travelled through the wilderness, God was present with them through the pillow of cloud by day and pillow of fire by night. When Moses pitched the sanctuary in the wilderness, under God’s instruction, the Shekinah glory above the mercy seat was were God dwelt. When Jesus was leaving to return to heaven, He asked the Father to send the Holy Spirit to dwell in the hearts of His people. Today, the Lord is still dwelling in the hearts of those who have opened the door and let him in. Matthew Henry in his commentary on this verse said, “He will rejoice over thee with joy, will not only be well pleased with thee, upon thy repentance and reformation, and take thee into favour, but will take a complacency in thee, as the bridegroom does in his bride, or the bride in her ornaments, Isa. 62:3-5. The conversion of sinners and the consolation of saints are the joy of angels, for they are the joy of God him-self.” I pray that our actions will not only cause the Lord to remain in our midts put also cause Him to remain joyful.
