Good morning. As of 7:30 a.m. Saturday, during the past 12 hours the Merced area received about .86 inches of rain, according to measurements taken at the Merced Airport. Showers will continue sporadically through Saturday evening, according to Christine Riley, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Hanford. The current storm system moved into the region Friday afternoon from the Gulf of Alaska. After the storm passes, however, meteorologists are not expecting Merced to see more rain for at least another seven days. It’s currently 54 degrees, with highs of 66 degrees predicted for today
