Good morning People of god its 6:00 am, and yesterday was such an awesome day of being in the presence of God, with the People of God. I do not take for granted a second of the multiple blessings that God bestows upon us daily. I am fully convinced that not just because of scripture alone, but because of the goodness of God displayed in our lives, we are to always be mindful to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. News Flash: We all have been called to minister outside of the four walls of the church, and we all must take on the attitude of Christ and understand that we were: Saved To Serve 19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. 20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; 21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. 22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23 And this I do for the gospels sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you. (1 Corinthians 9:19-23) This morning from my bedside at Presbyterian Hospital I cant help but remember, I havent always been free. I believe that many of us have a story that we neglect to share because of the fear of being judged. Can I tell you that if the church would undress and remove the mask of religion, which causes others from the inside looking in to feel inadequate to even be considered a christian. I know for a certainty that God pulled me out of hell, to be able to go and pull others out in the same manner. We all were rescued and saved from various backgrounds, which makes us a prime candidate to serve others from similar backgrounds, if not the same. Its not what your resume says now, but what your entire portfolio says that gives you a specific assignment or area, of serving others. What I am trying to say is this; Dont forget where you came from. Its where you came from and not where you are at, that makes your resume so attractive to God. I believe that many in the kingdom of God have been saved, delivered and set free just to become pew fillers in the church. God told me to declare to any one that calls themselves a Christian, the fact that you are Saved To Serve. Serve who? Im sure inquiring minds would like to know! We are to be careful not to develop a pharisaic attitude. An attitude that says, Im better than you, because I know Jesus and you dont. Listen: Im not off point this morning because the Spirit of God is always on point. You might not say that with your lips, but just maybe your actions say otherwise. First of all, Jesus came to serve not to be served! If Jesus was still walking this earth in human form, you would find him among the sinners, and not the saints. Paul had a past record that would disqualify him from most church positions, but made him a prime candidate for a heavenly position that always have openings. The Help wanted ads of Heavens Newspaper would read like this: Help Wanted - Full Time Servants. Job Description: Heaven is looking for Full Time Servants, who are willing to go wherever needed, whenever needed, and talk to whoever needed. Position requires unmasking, rolling up your sleeves, and seeking to save the lost. It is a requirement for this position that you never forget where God brought you from, and be willing to go back undercover for Heavens sake. Position requires that you actually talk to people that need Jesus in their lives, and be willing to meet them wherever they are at. No resume or background check needed, inquire through prayer immediately, and proceed as instructed. Paul summed it all up for us in 1 Corinthians 9 when he said, Yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. He said further, I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. Paul made it clear that his actions, attitude, and desire was not for self fulfillment but for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I dont know about you, but when I was a servant for the devil, I was one of his premier soldiers that ranked high in his army, but that was only a set up for Gods call to be a Servant For The Kingdom. Yes, I am a certified hell specialist, only because I fully understand that God pulled me out of hell (my past life), to be able to go and rescue someone else. You see this position calls for more than just Sunday morning church, It calls for the willingness to hang out with people that are still walking in the same darkness that we all once walked in. Yes People of God, we could leave a signifigant hole in hell if we realize that we were Saved To Serve. Now that God has hired you, let Him use you to build the kingdom. The job is guaranteed, the benefit package is awesome, and eternal life is a sure thing. Have a Blessed Labor Day!
