Good morning all. I want to briefly mention the role of your attitude when you go through rehabilitation. I have been a Sports Physio for 11 years now, (wow, I am getting old, or more experienced, either way) the key trait that often determines how well someones does after their surgery or when they get an injury is how willing they are to dig themselves out of the hole. Surgery is only a small part of the battle..... It takes a mind shift, a belief in who you are and it tests your character. With many athletically minded people you are stripped away from doing what you love for a short, medium or long term period. This certainly has mental consequences. How you deal with this and where you channel your energy/frustration is the key to your success. Focus on what you CAN do. Make sure that your therapist is very clear about this. If you can ride a bike, ride. If you can box, box. If you can do push ups, do push ups. MOVE! Dont feel sorry for yourself.... that will get you nowhere! This is while you are working on your rehabilitation or specific exercises to strengthen your body to get you back to what you love. Make sure that the therapist you are seeing fixes the cause of your problems and above all educates you on what went wrong! This is the key to solving the problem and to stop it coming back again. Have a great Tuesday, Happy running Rosco
