Good morning everyone! Again God manifest His unflinching Love to mankind! This morning as I came out from the Church and walk home as always, the beautiful sunrise greets me like saying today is a beautiful day! In this place (Max Y. Suniel St., Carmen CDO) were lucky for we see beautiful sunrise every morning! No obstruction, buildings or whatever that mars its beauty; and the school buildings I happened to design-the two 5 storey COC Buildings (facing each other divided by the road) as if they understood giving way to the beauty of the sun as if its just awaken from a deep peaceful slumber-like a giant that arise with grace! Cant even describe its beauty but for me to see it is enough and makes me remember my childhood in Minglanilla where every morning I could see the beautiful sunrise but never understood its beauty then but accepted as one of the beautiful creation of God described in one of our beautiful poem then All Things Bright And Beautiful! Enough for air castles a friend asked me why it was Lukes Gospel being read when Sundays of Ordinary times, this being Year A in our Liturgical Calendar should be from the first Gospel that of Matthew! I said you forget that Feasts of the Lord and Solemnities if the fall on Sundays can be observed on Sundays with the Corresponding Gospel, and this is one of that! ICYMI this was published in ‘The New Roman Calendar (March 21, 1969)’; you can read more on Days Of The LORD, Volume 1 of 7 Volumes! And for ease of calculating mentally (for interested ones) the day of a certain date you can use these numbers (15 for April & July, 16 for January & October, 17 for May, 18 for August, 19 for February, March & November, 20 for June and 21 for September & December) to be added unto that date the resulting total divided by 7 the remainder then will give the day; 0 for Sunday, 1 for Monday, 2 for Tuesday and so on! Today is the Feast of The Presentation of the LORD.’ This celebration is called ‘candelaria’, the ritual of candles. Candles are blessed and lighted to welcome the Child Jesus-the Lord as He enters the Temple. In our Minglanilla Church we can see the four candles being the backdraft of our altar that have more symbolism than the other churches I visited! When that pillar was bare of any ornaments like bulb form like a candle I saw it as the Torah or the 5 books of Moises and from then I made plenty of what it symbolizes… Below I share to you of which some of you may have already read it, Martha authored this one! One can remember the last letter of St. Peter, the fisherman our first pope. You can find this in Power Point Slide Show in Tommy’s Window,I find this as requested by friend EFHI in 2006! ******* THE FOUR CANDLES Four candles slowly burned. The ambiance was so soft, one could almost hear them talking… The first candle said: “The world is full of anger and fighting. Nobody can keep me lit.” Then the flame of Peace went out completely The second candle said: “I am Faith!” “I am no longer indispensable. It doesn’t make sense that I stay lit another moment.” Just then a breeze softly blew Faith’s flame. Sadly the third candle began to speak: “I am Love!” “People don’t understand my importance so they simply put me aside. They even forget to love those who are nearest to them.” And waiting no longer Love’s flame went out. Suddenly… a child entered the room and saw the three unlit candles. “Why aren’t you burning? You’re supposed to stay lit till the end.” Saying this, the child began to cry. Then the fourth candle answered: “Don’t be afraid, I am Hope!” “While I am still burning we can re-light the other candles.” With shining eyes the child took the candle of hope and lit the other candles. The Greatest Of These Is Love… … but the flame of Hope should never go out of your life! With hope each of us can live with Peace, Faith and Love. PRAYER: “Dear Jesus, You are my light and salvation. You are my hope. Please come into my heart, forgive all my wrongs and give me Your wonderful gift of eternal Life. Help me be an instrument of Your love and cause Your light to shine on others through me. Amen” ******* Quotes to Ponder” “The soul is healed by being with children.”~ Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky “Just as a candle cannot burn without fire, men cannot live without a spiritual life.”~Siddhartha “As a man can drink water from any side of a full tank, so the skilled theologian can wrest from any scripture that which will serve His purpose.” The Bhagavad Gita “Practice hope. As hopefulness becomes a habit, you can achieve a permanently happy spirit.” ~ Norman Vincent Peale “And I guess the most beautiful realization that ever comes to anyone is this: the one who really loves you, the one who is always willing to sacrifice for you, the one who supports you always, no matter what. . . . . is God. God is a friend! “ ~Rev Fr James B. Reuters Have a blessed Sunday! God bless us all!!
