Good morning everyone....Happy Thievish Thursday! Just a quick check-in before I check-out. Lots of running around to do today.....well, more hobbling than running....but you know what I mean. So it’s a quick coffee and a quick hello to you guys, then back to it. All the animals have been fed and watered, and the pacas have all gone into new paddocks this morning. Moonshadow had his first taste of food from a bucket yesterday. The cria go from feeding solely from mum, to nibbling grass, to eventually trying what mum is eating in the bucket. This process normally takes a couple of months; they will be weaned from mum at around 6 to 8 months. After his first taste of paca pellets yesterday, he has tried to stick his head in all the girls’ buckets this morning. Much to their annoyance. Alpacas actually rarely spit..... apart from when someone tries to touch their food. Suffice to say, Moonshadow was a delightful shade of paca pellet brown, by the time they had finished with him. :) x
