Good morning everyone! I would like to send a huge thank you out - TopicsExpress

Good morning everyone! I would like to send a huge thank you out to everyone for all your love, thoughts, and prayers for Jethro and I! This last week has had its ups and downs for sure and we appreciate everyone! Jethro is continuing to take his meds like a rock star and has never once complained. I know he dislikes them but I believe he knows its intended to help. Some days the meds cause him to not feel good and its very apparent but he tries to put on a happy face and continue with business as usual. My heart breaks for him as his mama because I only want him to feel better but I know this is a process and feel confident we are on the right path to a healthier Jethro. He has probably gained about 8 lbs or so at this point and its beginning to show around his spine, hips, and ribs. His waist line isnt as sunken in either. We go back to the Dr in a few weeks and Im excited to see how much he gains by then. On a lighter note, Jethro is quite the comedian! His quirky nature sometimes is enough to give you a giggle! I think he believes when given a rawhide he is participating in a how quick can you demolish the rawhide competition! He can completely destroy an entire chew bone in less than an hour! And once he does he radiates with pride like look what I can do! He is a silly boy and not to mention a huge mamas boy! I literally cant leave his sight when at home. He can be passed out in the floor and if I make a noise getting off the couch hes right there too, following me where ever I may go. Im sure, as you can imagine, no location is off limits to Jethro and it is unacceptable for me to leave him behind, regardless the reason. My husband and I joke by calling him my shadow. He has continued to do a great job when left home alone which Im really glad about. I think since he has seen I will return hes not so anxious. We are still working on various training and as of now he can sit, lay down, shake, catch a treat, and retrieve. We are working on manners when being given a treat directly and stay but he shows improvement each time. Im continuing to socialize him as often as possible. He is really great with people. Im so proud for Jethro, to see his happiness and how thankful he is for everything hes been given. He loves his family, treats, playtime, cuddles, lazy time, chew bones.... Dogs truly are four-legged, fur people. If only us humans could love as deeply, live as truthfully, and be so loyal to one another, the world truly would be a better place. People often judge us animal lovers because we are cast from a different mold but I thank God I was given compassion for animals and the opportunity to be loved so deeply by such a selfless being and to help make a difference in their lives. Its such a blessing! Strive to be truthful, selfless, and loyal in daily life! One person may not be able to change the world, but maybe you can change the world for one person simply by an act of kindness or showing compassion for others. #loveallGodscreatures #sharekindness #rescuealife #bethechange #pray Have a great weekend!
