Good news - Reese is back home - finally! Ortho dr offered - TopicsExpress

Good news - Reese is back home - finally! Ortho dr offered diagnosis (sort of) but we arent totally bought in. One ER doc told us MRI showed bone and bone marrow involvement. Ortho says that is consistent with injury. First report said no ligament involvement, next one said there was. Our big question is - why was there such a terrible response if such a minor injury? I mean really, 2 vascular surgeons, 8+ emergency med docs, 2 ultrasounds, CT scan, MRI, blood work up and overnight hospital stay for sprain? No pulse in her foot, entire leg swollen, 3 (or maybe 4?) doses of morphine to control the pain and one fainting episode. No doc has been able to explain that. They all say yeah, thats not normal. So, we are very thankful the swelling is down, the pain is almost gone and she is back home. But feel like we still didnt get a reason for this nightmare. We are going to follow up with sports med dr (that we LOVE) this week. It will be very reassuring to get his opinion. Thank u so much to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. This was pretty scary for all of us, especially Reese as she was hearing all the crazy scary stuff the drs were throwing out there. So we are very grateful to be back home with a girl who seems to be a thousand times better than she was yesterday! And now Im going to need a drink.
