Gov. Jerry Brown today announced two CDCR appointments. Glen Wayne Babby, 47, of Elk Grove, has been appointed deputy director of the CDCR Office of Research, where he has served as acting deputy director since 2013. Babby was a technical project manager at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation from 2010 to 2013 and has many years of experience in CDCR and several other state agencies. Marion Spearman, 51, of Lemoore, has been appointed warden at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Correctional Training Facility, Soledad, where he has been acting warden since 2012 and served in multiple positions since 2011, including acting warden and chief deputy administrator. Warden Spearman has also served in multiple positions at Pleasant Valley and Mule Creek state prisons. Read more: gov.ca.gov/news.php?id=18489
