Very upset to learn that one of our sponsored dogs - Bobi - has, as a result of him looking so lovely and behaving so well, been given away as part of a bride/groom gift exchange. Tosho had noticed he was absent recently, but the family said his owner was just taking him for a walk. A lie, sadly. I was able to discover what happened only because of an acquaintance in the village where Bobi now lives - without the food which has made him so well, without his kennel, built for him with Kapkis funds, and without the owner he had come to trust. The collar and lead his sponsor sent went with him though. I will be letting some time go by before deciding how to deal with this situation. Dogs are not boxes of chocolates. Once all our sponsored dogs have pet passports, this should not happen so easily.
