Governor Charlie Baker to visit WMass BOSTON (WWLP) – Just days after taking the oath of office, Governor Charlie Baker will continue his celebrations in the western part of the state. Baker will kick off his Saturday morning in North Adams and then make his way to the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield. The Fort restaurant in Springfield will be his final stop of the day where he will thank supporters and volunteers of his campaign. Although the events are meant to shine a spotlight on the region’s successes, Baker will also touch on some key initiatives. “Then the other thing we really need to move forward on is how we’d like to pursue this opiate question that we talked about yesterday in the inaugural address and the homelessness issue,” said Baker after chairing his first cabinet meeting Friday. He will also focus on job creation, improving the education system and creating safer communities across the Commonwealth. Saturday, January 10: What: Spotlight on Excellence: Community.
