Governor Yero: Corrupting the principles of Separation of Powers The truth about the whole drama leading to the impeachment of the Kaduna Speaker House of assembly is that we have failed as voters and as foot soldiers of democracy for not electing competent legislators that will always strive to uphold the tenets of democracy especially the principles of Presidential sytem of Government. The beauty of Presidential sytem of Government actually lies in the principles of separation of powers; i.e the 3 arms of government executive, legislature and judiciary are independent of each other, meaning the executive has no business in the affairs of the legislature and vice-verse. Any house member who did not strive to protect and uphold this principle has no business coming to the assembly. His Excellency is the head of the implementing arm while legislature are the law making arm of government. In real sense, the executive are employees of the legislature. Gov. Yero that we all know is a complete gentleman who is always mindful of observing the rule of law in his duties and will in no way benefit from any change of leadership of the state house of assembly as he works with the house as a law making assembly of peoples representatives and not the leadership. There will never be any iota of truth to say that the executive has anything to do with the change of the leadership, it is strictly legislators internal problem. As the saying goes “only an occupant of a room knows where it is leaking” in trying to fix leadership problems we are misunderstood for corrupting the principles of separation of powers.
