Great Impossibilities Have you ever had a challenge that seemed impossible to solve? Obstacles, mishaps and problems in life may appear to be impossible, especially during times of high stress. But if you will take a moment to consider God’s ways, you can triumph over every impossibility life throws at you. Even when harsh realities of life and negative circumstances are staring you in the face, remember, you have a greater force within you. Jesus said in Matthew 19:26 “… with God all things are possible.” The spirit of God that dwells inside of you will help you overcome any hurdle you may encounter. Our human logic finds it hard to accept that God can do all things, even when it pertains to our personal problems. Abraham and his wife Sarah had difficulty accepting this truth. God had explained to him that he and his wife Sarah would bear a son. The very thought was humorous to both of them, considering that they were old and Sarah was barren. They both laughed, thinking God must be joking. But God reaffirmed His position, asking them, “Is there any thing too hard for [Me]?” (Genesis 18:14). Great men and women of faith are constantly presenting testimonies that prove God still does the impossible, even in these last days. Many times Believers put up barriers which limits their ability to tap in to God’s power. When the disciples failed to cast out a demon, Jesus told them why, “. . . Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you” (Matthew 17:20). To access the miraculous power of God that can help you be victorious over the circumstances of life, you must first accept His Word in your heart. Whenever there is a situation in your life that seems impossible, you have to remember that God has given you His Word to overcome anything you may face. There are times that your logic will fail. For example, if you can’t seem to find a well-paying, satisfying job, you may opt to believe that it is impossible for you, but perhaps not for others. But that kind of thinking goes against God’s Word. Nothing is impossible for God! He has His part and you have your part. It is not enough to only believe, because true belief is always accompanied by action. The action could be doing what God first instructed you to do in His written Word, followed by specific instructions He gives you pertaining to your situation. Your obedience is the key to seeing God’s Word work for you. How, then, can you do the impossible in your everyday life, when things don’t work out the way you thought they would? God’s Word, and His way of doing things has to become a part of you. You have to keep His words in your heart by meditating on them regularly. Doing so will keep your faith strong for the tough times. Proverbs 4:20 says, “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.” To attend means to give attention to something. God wants you to constantly give attention to His Word, and apply it to your life. Meditation is “to muse over, contemplate, ponder” according to The Merriam-Webster Dictionary. Be careful of what ideas and concepts you contemplate or ponder. I meditate on the Word to the point that it becomes a part of my spirit and my mind. If you are dealing with an impossible problem right now, I urge you to research the Bible for the answer and when you find it write it down. Place it on your refrigerator door so you can see it. Listen to tapes and CDs that will help you overcome the problem. This is how you get the Word of God into your heart. Focus more on the promises of God than the attacks of the devil. In doing so, you will begin to see the supernatural power of God do the impossible and move the mountains you are currently facing.
