Great debate last night. We all know who won the debate on practical terms. I loved most the way the candidates embraced certain things from other parties (not arguing for the sake of arguing as some folks tend to do). While many have sought to crucify Boko for mentioning Sir Seretse as a hero of our country, he was actually right.. And again, I thought it is a demonstration of a great deal of maturity that he be in a position to present a view that is not traditional BNF since BNF is in a coalition with parties that are not leftist. Any person would have struggled to present such a position and it needed a Boko to present it succinctly. This ability to compromise will earn him more friends. For the next round he needs to be more practical to win the debate though. For me then, it was a close call that Dumelang Saleshando wins on basis of a solid argument on the economy, and out of being a little more practical; perhaps it is the advantage he gets from being in parliament for a decade. That experience seemed to come in handy. Expect Boko to comeback strongly though, round one winners almost always must double their efforts to win the next round, also because the next round may be more skewed to areas their expertise and experience may not be strong on.
