Greedy, greedy child. ;) Just kidding. Actually, most children I know are more than happy to share, especially with others, who for some reason, cant trick-or-treat, but many times even with those unwilling to earn their own candy. Because after-all, even though they worked for it, they have more than they need. What does it hurt to (willingly) share and make someones day a little brighter. Even if the other child chose not to work for it. Maybe theyll see how much more they could have had, and strive for more next time. The key is that it has to be voluntarily shared. Little Johnny knows its wrong to have it taken from him without his permission. What a lot of people on the right dont understand, is many times there are rules and restrictions on who can or cant trick-or-treat. Codes and ordinances get in the way of lots of kids earning their own candy. The authorities tell them NO for lots of different reasons - need the proper costume, and safety equipment, or age restrictions, etc... Usually though, these rules are because of some lobby to keep out competition, disguised as safety. That way, certain kids get all the candy. What people on both sides dont understand, is if there werent so many restrictions, more kids could earn candy on their own without relying on assistance from other kids. What the people on the left dont understand is that giving should always be voluntary, and taking stuff from others to give to someone else does not make you charitable. To take something by force that doesnt belong to you against the other persons will is bad form. To hide behind a group that does the same thing is still bad form. Sometimes people get backlash for posting political things on special days, and are told to save it for another day. I apologize if my rant on this Hallowed day offends anyone. ;)
