Greek Honey Cake 1 cup all purpose flour 1 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp orange zest 3/4 cup butter 3/4 cup sugar 3 eggs 1/4 cup milk 1 cup chopped walnuts 1 cup sugar 1 cup honey 3/4 cup water 1 tsp lemon juice Preheat oven to 325 degrees...grease and flour a 9 inch baking pan. Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and orange zest. Blend well with a whisk. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until its light and fluffy. Beat the eggs into the mixture one at a time. Beat the resulting mixture into the flour, with the milk until well incorporated. Stir in walnuts. Pour the batter into the pan. Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown and tooth pick comes out clean. Allow to cool for 15 minutes and cut into triangles. Drizzle honey syrup over top and enjoy. Honey Syrup Mix the honey, water, lemon juice and sugar in a sauce pan. Bring to a slow boil, reduce heat and allow to simmer for three minutes...allow to cool slightly.
