Greetings Friday friends. May I take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and healthy New Year . I expect like me you have all set your self goals for the New Year Certain dates that come around every year help us measure progress in our lives. One annual event, New Years Day, is a time of reflection and resolution and probably a thumping head ache. Sometimes we know the best thing to do, but fail to do it. New years resolutions are often like that. We make resolutions because we know it would be better for us to lose weight, or get fit, or spend more time with our children. The problem is that a resolution is generally easier to break than it is to keep. It’s easy to take on too much, because everything sounds amazing. We choose this day the first of January to make The Change that will be the way forward ..... If we aim too high we may find we suffer from vertigo .... So what happens when we do not reach these sometimes impossible goals? Failure is not fatal . Better we reflect on the achievements we have made in our lives . They may be small or huge but they are hills and mountains we have conquered . Its the small things we do every day that really count ,smiling at a friend and seeing them smile back .Lending a helping hand . Being patient .Trying to always show a good example . Being a valuable member of society . You are all those things . So perhaps its time to stop making impossible resolutions and pat our selves on the back and stand proud on what we Have enjoyed success in ! “You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated.
