Guardians of the Galaxy: An IMAX 3D First Look 17 Minute preview Review *- No Spoilers -* Starring : Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Benicio del Toro Director: James Gunn 2 hr. 2 min. Okay, there was a lot of confusion about this screening. I would guess 50% of the people in attendance thought it was the full movie but it was in fact a 17 minute IMAX 3D preview only. And it was Awesome I already wanted to see this movie but after seeing the preview, it is high on the list. I usually dont endorse 3D but I always suggest IMAX or large screen format. However, the purpose of tonights screening was to showcase the IMAX 3D and it worked. Amazing action mixed in with just the right amount of humor (really funny stuff not seen in the current trailers) With the added music of popular songs from my childhood, it just keeps getting better. Your average movie fan might be confused asking Who are The Guardians of the Galaxy? and how do they fit in the Marvel universe. If you have not read any of the comics, you might not care about these guys. Even seasoned Marvel fans may not know these guys but they do fit in with the whole Avengers, Iron Man, Thor and Captiain America storyline. (Two hints - Thanos and The Collector) I love Groot and Rocket steals the show. There are a few easter eggs to find (If you know what you are looking at) I am making sure I get my tickets for the Thursday night before opening showing right now. I think this will be a huge blockbuster for Marvel in 2014. The early negative comments about Marvel taking a huge risk and Marvels first Big Bust will eat their words when this bad boy hits the Big Screen in three weeks.
