Guests earlier tonight at the Front Desk: Hi, wed like a room tonight. Me: of course, the best rate would be $830 + tax. Guest: how much with tax? me: $955.92. Guest: sure, no problem, lets do it. I create the booking. Guests gives me $600 in cash & says we will wire the rest via Western union tomorrow. Me: Sir, unfortunately, I would need a Credit card for the remaining balance or cash. We cannot authorize room keys otherwise without full payment/pre authorization. Guest: yeah, but come on man, we will wire transfer tomorrow. Me: as Im giving back his Credit card that declined for all amounts. sir, Im sorry. Guest: ok, fine, we will just go to The Four Seasons instead. Me: of course, enjoy, its a lovely hotel! Meanwhile, the best rate for tonight there was $1,100. #goodluck #nevergoingtohappen #dontcheckintoahotelwithoutsufficientfunds!
