Gunmen kill policeman, son in Bauchi Gunmen attacked Soro Divisional Police Station in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State on Monday killing a policeman and his son before freeing four suspects in police detention. A police corporal was also shot in currently in critical situation. The gunmen, who launched the attack at about 1.05am on Monday, were said to have completely burned down the station. This came barely one week after cattle rustlers attacked the Giade Divisional Police Headquaters with explosives, causing severe damage to the building, carting away arms, ammunition and a Police Hilux Van and freeing one suspect in detention. The Police Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Police Command, Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident to newsmen on Monday in Bauchi. The PPRO said three suspects had been arrested in connection with the attack, adding that the police was currently investigating the incidence. A security source also said the gunmen, after the attack, were reported to have gone to the house of a policeman, serving in Gombe and killed him and his son. The murdered policeman was said to have come to Soro to see his family when the gunmen stormed his house and killed him with his son. February 03, 2014 at 06:42PM
