HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CHUCK AND JOHN PANOZZO! Born Charles Salvatore and John Anthony Panozzo, 90 minutes apart, on September 20th 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. These fraternal twins were the bassist and drummer for Styx. They started playing instruments at age 7 and by age 12 were making $15 apiece playing weddings in a three piece accordion band. In 1961 they formed a band called tradewinds with neighbor Dennis DeYoung playing accordion, keyboards and singing. In 1968 they added James JY Young on guitar, shortly thereafter changing their name to Styx. In 1983 John developed cirrhosis of the liver from years of excessive drinking and died in July of 1996. In 2001, Chuck announced he was gay and HIV positive. He still travels with and makes an appearance during Styx concerts. Heres Styx Come Sail Away, which peaked at No8 in the US in 1977.....Enjoy!
