HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! The tradition that was started by our Pro Vice Chairman, Mr Sunil Agarwal, of inviting a Swatantra Senani , has been continuing without a break since 2002....We are so humbled and yet proud to have them in our midst! Most of them whom we had the honour of having in our schools haloed precincts...are no more...But Saroj Rani Gauhar Maam graced the occasion! May God give her a very , very , very long and active and healthy life as she is blessed with today! Honest confession by the Principal: Pyaro Bachchon, kritagyata ka ehsaas karo unlogon ke prati jinhonen aazaadi ke liye choti badi kurbanian di! Kya se kya ho gaya: casteism, communalism, pseudo secularism, oppression of women, violence against women, girls and children, lust for power, power and money hungry exploitative people...corruption......Woh laye the toofan se kashti nikaal ke, is desh ko rakhna mere bachchon sambhal ke! I AM UPLOADING A PROMOTIONAL SONG THAT WAS MADE DURING INDO CHINA WAR IN 1962 FEATURING RAJ KUMAR, RAJENDRA KUMAR, RAJ KAPOOR AND SUNIL DUTT! Honestly, being a boy, I was more enamoured of this song than any other promotional song that was released at the time! I still remember my mother stitching sweaters, woollen gloves and we would go to the railway yard in Danapur to meet the Jawans in Military Special Trains and hand them over these things...Humble contribution of the civilians...And yes, see the acting of Raj Kumar and Sunil Dutt in the song! And Mohammad Rafi Saheb was just too too too good! Listen to the voice, I tell you, you will get goose bumps! Rongte kharhe ho jayenge! AAWAAZ DO HUM EK HAIN, HUM EK HAIN! DPS AGRA CELEBRATES 68th INDEPENDENCE DAY The 68th Independence Day was celebrated with immense fervor at DPS Agra. Each heart was filled with joy and pride as the Chief Guest, Smt. Rani Saroj Gaurihar, a great freedom fighter, ardent social worker and poetess, unfurled the flag and released the tricolor balloons. The principal, Mr. Amber Banerjee, thereafter, addressed the School and extended his blessings and best wishes on the occasion. Thought-provoking speeches, robust drills and eloquent music and dance performances were a part of the cultural programme prepared and presented by the students of DPS Agra and Shiksha Kendra with great enthusiasm. The programme concluded with the Chief Guest’s blessings followed by the National Song.
