HERE WE GO,i got another funny story for yous,firstly dis storys about da top tavern in cannons creek PORIRUA EAST,now if you really know dis pub you,ll know dat at da time dat it was built in 1964 it was deemed to be or hve da longest public bar in da southern hemsphere,dats wen i was born,now dis bar at dat time was one of da most rugged places in da wellington district to drink at,bar opens 10 oclock in da mornin til 6oclock closing,now some of da fights dat used to come out of dat place were mean as,like i seen dat whole carpark way before da mall in da creek was built,so im talkin da whole carpark full of people fighting,da raros were hving a dance upstairs,da saaa,s had dere own bar at da rear of da building downstairs,and den dere was da public bar,near closing time dere was a fight going on out da front of da pub people were leaving to go hm wen all of a sudden da fight got bigger n bigger n bigger,nek minute da whole carpark was just one big brawl.at da time we had relations up from christchurch and dey freaked,i remember my cuz saying,wow does dis always happen like dis,you know we were just little kids den and our only answer was yeah man evry nite,by da way we used to live at 211 bedford street so our view was like full view of evrything dat went on in dat bar.i like telling people dis,back in da old days wen black n white tv came out it was da in thing you could garaunttee dat every1 dat had a tv at da time was sitting in front of it watching tv,but not in our house,we used to turn da tv off turn da lites off and open up our curtains and watch da top tavern,was da best entertainment in porirua at dat time....pity dat video recording wasn,t around imagine da footage dat we would,ve had,man wouldve made a fortune,but hey dats just one story dat i can tell you about da top tavern.deres a lot more to come,so keep an eye out,we,ll call it REAL STORIES OF DA CREEK.....RAID ON!!!!!
