HI Folks, Id like to start a thread, to help me process an issue, but Im asking that it not degenerate into arguing. It deals with near death experiences. In another thread, Bruce Van Natta is mentioned. There are a number of other popular books out there, including 90 Minutes in Heaven. I have read and enjoyed that book. As a pastor, I have witnessed, many, many times, members of my church seeing deceased relatives when they are near death. To this day, Ive never had them see someone who was still alive. I have spoken with a couple of doctors who are familiar with this. I also sat next to a doctor on the airplane saturday, who was had some similar experiences (enough that he said he needs to write them down). He himself has had something like that happen in his family. Here is my question: how do you handle this with your own theology? I will say that my personal belief is that these are real, not hallucinations. But this seems to be a taboo subject among Christians. What are your thoughts? Again, lets be kind as we discuss this. And I wonder how John 14 plays into it?
