HOMEOPATHIC REMEDY MILLEFOLIUM (Yarrow Compositae) INTRODUCTION : The name is derived from Latin word “ Mille meaning “ thousand “ and “ Folium “ is “ leaf ” because it has numerous narrow pointed leaves. It has principal alkaloid an oil of Archillein and an uninvestigated resionid body. MILLEFOLIUM IN HAEMORRHAGIC DISORDERS : Patient will have haemorrhages of various types but specially when the blood is bright red coloured resulting from fall from a height, over lifting, continued high temperature. Bleeding from every orifice of the body. In case of epistaxis there will be piercing pain from eyes to root of nose. A good drug for bleeding pain. The urine is bloody in nature. In female patients the menses are early, profuse and protracted; of bright red blood. There is painful varicosity of veins during pregnancy. There will be haemoptysis in case of incipient phthisis. Cough is associated with bloody expectoration and palpitation in case of suppression of menses or haemorrhoids. MENTAL GENERALS : 1. Melancholy, sadness, weak memory. 2. Much anxiety. 3. Aversion to work. DOSE : Lower and medium potencies act better.
