HOW TO BE A GOOD POLITICIAN. 1. Mean what you say and say what you mean; this builds trust and confidence. 2. Tell the truth; they say politicians are liars but this does not need to be true, you can chose to be different; a good Politician knows how to be skillful in telling the truth, he does not need to lie, examples are people like Nelson Mandela and Abraham Lincoln, these men were not God but people like us who won human trust. 3. Don’t go into politics or government to enrich yourself; focus on building your society and liberating your people, and good things will come to you including money. 4. Develop a genuine love for people and learn to be a good listener. 5. Don’t be dogmatic; keep an open mind to every issue. 6. Don’t see your opponents as enemies, see them as friends and brothers in the same struggle who agree and disagree on the common goal of changing and building the society, after all even in our families we disagree but we don’t destroy each other because of that. 7. Don’t participate in the game of politics with hatred and bitterness; this two will consume you and by extension your followers. 8. When in office remember that such opportunity comes to very few men once in a life so don’t waste it, maximize it by using it to solve the problems of your community and beyond. 9. Surround yourself with the right people who will help you to achieve your goals not people who are not on the same page with you or people who are coming to steal. 10. There is a difference between LOYALTY and BLIND LOYALTY, so be loyal but don’t follow wrong and foolishness. 11. Learn to be a good communicator; speak to people in the language they understand, touch their heart, feelings and needs, not your ego! 12. Reject the politics of ethnicity and embrace all people with love for we are all one and wreck in the same boat of challenge, as long as governance is concern. 13. Study the history of your community, state, country, and even the world; understand the past of your people so that you know how to chart the direction for the future. 14. Have a vision and plan for what you want to do for your community, state, and Country. Don’t be visionless and remember to review your aim regularly. Sycophants will not tell you the truth, though oppositions distract but more often its only they and you who can truly and boldly say if you have actualized or not the purpose of your leadership. 15. Embrace the virtue of courage for without it all other virtues are useless. Courage is the mother of all virtues. 16. Be principled. Don’t be tossed by every wind. Stand for what is right even if you are alone. It is theirs to dictate, advise, influence but remember to use your discretion for finally the shame or glory is attached only to your name. 17. Resist Fear. Fear could be your greatest enemy. 18. Confront your opponents with logic, facts, reason, and principles not with sentiments or Hear-says. 19. Before you take sides, pass judgment or take a stand on any issue; listen to all the parties involved and get all the facts (right). 20. Put the interest of your community, state, country and even humanity first and above every other interest. 21. Focus more on leaving a lasting legacy and not immediate needs; the key point is leaving any place, circumstance, idea etc. better than you had found or inherited it. 22. Let the majority have their way and the minority their say; even the minority should be accomodated. 23. Never underestimate or overestimate your opponent. 24. Make yourself approachable and accessible by your people no matter how big or small. NOW TO BE A BAD, WICKED, POOR, UNINTELLIGENT, AVERAGE, UNGODLY, AND NORMAL POLITICIAN DO THE OPPOSITE OF ALL THE ABOVE. ALL THE BEST PEOPLE!
