HPL X ‘The Rail’ Week 3 HPL, The Real Yorkshire Show The - TopicsExpress

HPL X ‘The Rail’ Week 3 HPL, The Real Yorkshire Show The Harrogate Poker League enjoyed another excellent week despite the Great Yorkshire Show presenting some issues with traffic. On Sunday lunchtime a rather quiet Regency saw reigning champion Paul ‘Tucker’ Fryar solidify his case to retain his title with his second win in two weeks. Could I remind you that this venue has fantastic facilities and offers excellent refreshments on what is always a great Sunday lunch time and really deserves a better turn out than 14 players. Later in the day David Clements endured Joe Robinson’s second best impersonation to take down the 43 seater at Starbeck Working Men’s and at the Trades Hall Linda Harris won her first HPL X event. Harry Hazelgreave won another good event at the Otley Social Club. Adam Ryder seems to have hit a rich vein of form and duly won at the Hart on Monday despite facing 42 opponents, whilst HPL IX final table runner up Jamie Burton won the week 3 event at the Claro Beagle. At the High Harrogate on Tuesday evening Ivan Gray won for the first time this season with a seven bust-out victory and at the Starbeck WMC Isaac Chowdury shook off the shackles of love for one night and managed a win. Doug McLachlan won his second event of HPL X beating a field of 31 and in the process claimed top spot in the league table there. Ken Vanzo enjoyed what could be his last win in the Harrogate Poker League at the Dagger on Wednesday as he is shortly to return to his native USA and I’m sure I speak for all the HPL when I wish Ken all the best for the future. Geoff Watson claim that he has changed his game was given some credence with his win at the Ex-Servicemen’s Club, and at the Board Inn in Knaresborough Alan Coote sits atop the table after his victory there. In the final fixture of the evening at The Angel in Wetherby James Ellaby claimed his first league victory after out foxing the Rhino. At Park Place on Thursday evening Matt Dodds secured 7 bust-out on his way to victory there whilst Chris Mitchell bettered that with 10 bust-outs and a win at the Ex-Servicemen’s Club. Dave Wilson won a competitive event at the Otley Social Club to complete the evening’s fixtures. On Friday evening Dave Waite recovered from a seemingly impossible position to take down the Harlow Hill Club and Dom Gil held off the challenge of Wendy Hobson at the Trades Hall. The final fixture of the week saw Simon Hoare secure a fine win at Starbeck Cons Club. Global League: Matt Dodds maintains his lead at the head of the Rascals Hair Design global league table. The EPS sponsored Fantasy Poker League: The winner of the team of the week award goes to Purcy’s Purse Pursuers. Superstars IV: We need to conclude the registrations for this event in the next 10 days or so we now have 24 entrants and as always should we get the 32 there will be £3200 in prize money.
