Had a few mates down from Canberra chasing a beaky yesterday. Non of them had ever seen one up close let alone caught one. Well all that changed at 9.30am when we had a solid hook up on a striped marlin. After two blistering runs both with several hundred metres of line peeled off the 30 TLD and a chase on both occasions the fish was eventually bought along side only for that familiar catch cry NOOOOOOOOOO. (Actually it wasnt that one but the other one I didnt think appropriate as we also have several ladies following the page). Several minutes of silence and then oh well shit happens and back into it again. Unfortunately it was our only shot for the day. As Mark Stav has posted he had his 4 way hook up at 4.30 ish another Eden boat had 2 from 6. We were up at the old FAD mark area. The action seemed to be a little further south. Yesterday off bermie several boats were encountering cold water. We had the same about 1pm onwards. The water was 21.8 when we got the fish at 9.30 and it dropped 2 degrees by 1pm. We went east and found the same we went west and it was worse. The water dropped to 17 degrees at the 45 fathom line and was black. Be interested if other encountered this! Cheers, Brian
