Had another awesome weekend, camping with friends form my Backcountry Horsemen club at the trail head to Independent Lakes, in the Sawtooth National Forest. We did trail clearing and maintenance with a ranger for the Forest Service, and quite a bit or riding also just for fun and the views. The only downsides were the trash at a campsite at the second lake and the soreness on my bottom side. We cleaned up the trash, loading it all into my paniers on the pack saddle. And of course my bottom side will heal with time and rest. Roger the ranger became a new friend, well actually from an acquaintance to a friend, as we had met and skied together this past winter when he was doing his service call and inspection at the resort where I ski patrol. We resolved to do some more work maintaining and enjoying the backcountry together via horseback.
