Had to have some dead/troubled trees -- one HUGE one among them -- removed from my little strip of woodsy backyard. And I do mean STRIP -- theres not much to it at all. Am wondering about what might go in there that would be good to eat. the ground would need to be torn up a bit to plant a new tree -- apple? apple pear? -- I understand. For the moment, there are some small raised beds in a spot that will now get a good bit more sunshine, so thats something. If anyone has thoughts for me, Id happily entertain them. I live in South Bend, right next to Memorial hospital, and have a five year old, who is angling for an apple tree because then I can climb it.
