Hank, Rhett and I, went to the movies last night to see, NOAH. It was an extremely thought provoking movie, that answered as many questions as well as leaving the viewer with many unanswered ones as well. Only fitting, as we reside in a to-be-continued-world....Many scenes depicted were brutal and graphic; many showed the faces of Wickedness, Greed, Power, and also the light of Trust, Faith, Obedience, Nobility, Honor, Responsibility, and the greatest of them all, LOVE...Just like in our world today. I was thinking late last night (as I often do), and for some reason it was about there not being any more death or mourning or crying or pain. And not because I am dying or mourning or crying or in pain (well that last one is up for debate, but you know what I mean.) It just kind of came to me and then I thought about when this whole thing is over with and there is a new heaven and a new earth and were enjoying eternity in ways where no eye had ever seen nor ear had ever heard and were finally getting to see clearly and fully, rather then dimly and partially. And I began to think, then, on all the ways we bicker and banter and choose right over love, or theology over love, or doctrine over love, or politics over love, or denomination over love, or self over love, or whatever it is that keeps us from loving the way Jesus said we were to be known by. And I thought, also, about all the ways we have divided and conquered and not in a good way, but, rather a bad way. And how so many of us ...so many ...are living behind prison bars of our own making or choosing or believing or whatever. And so this life as we know it is done and over with and were all finally there, wherever there is, and we now know and can see clearly and fully and because there is no crying and from that there will be no regret or shame or depression, because of our choice of living, even as we claimed Christ or tried our damndest to follow Him in our finite and human ways, we cannot cry or weep or wail for all the silly and petty arguing and falling apart and not coming back together and sitting on our high horse and not stooping down like Jesus did and instead bashing those who dont believe the way we believed over their heads and never spoke to that person again because, well, they were just too big of an asshole, and those prison bars we saw as holy and righteous, but were instead deathly and wrong. And God is among us revealing all the glorious and beautiful truth about how free we were in Christ and how His power really was available to us in all things and how love really was the greatest of these, and there will be, instead of tears, a collective gasp by us all.
