I started using the web in 1994, accessing it using Lynx from a cyber-café in Seattle, and two years later, I was providing telephone technical support of the first iteration of Internet Explorer (and Windows 95). I remember installing AOL on numerous machines so that I could sign up at real internet providers, and then cancelling AOL before the free period ended. I started internet dating on Yahoo Personals in 1998 or 1999. I met my (ex)-husband online in a French Yahoo chat room in 2001. Now, I am able to do volunteer work entirely online with two cherished non-profits, thanks to the World Wide Web.
