Looking back on the last 35 years of my life I would have thought I would have been the one that would have been murdered or died a violent death. Over the last five years Ive lost two friends to fratricide, one to domestic violence, one to drug related violence, two as a result of intervening in a crime, and two suicides to avoid criminal prosecution. Up until the times of their deaths these friends appeared to do all the right things and make all the right choices. Ive done everything wrong, made all the wrong choices and I fall ass backwards into the best things in life. Im usually the one thinking I need to administer justice to the bad guy. Then I am reminded of the words of Judge Angela Stokes...Maybe YOURE the bad guy. Perhaps Death has been aiming for me and Ive dodged all the bullets...so far.
