Happy Independence Day! Here is your daily inspiration for today, July 4 Rights and Privileges Rights are absolute; they are not negotiable. Privileges are granted and can be taken away as quickly as they were given. Most of modern history shows those in charge ... the ones who had the wealth and power ... held the rights and granted the privileges. Our Founding Fathers thought they would reverse this concept with a new democracy where the people would guide themselves. Instead of the government and businesses having the rights and passing on privileges to the people, the people would hold the rights and grant the privileges to the government and businesses. If those rights are violated, We the People, who grant the privileges, have the freedom and the rights to withdraw them. Reflection: Where in your world have you abdicated your rights to something you feel is bigger and more powerful than you? How can you reclaim your unalienable right of freedom today? Affirmation: I reclaim the authority in my life!
