Happy Mother’s Day It’s a beautiful day, Mother’s Day 2014. Just got back from my law school reunion in Charlottesville and then finished up an afternoon of yard work. Collapsed on my downstairs couch and thinking about the right way to recognize my mother, Mary Petersen. With each passing year (and my own pathetic attempts at parenting), I appreciate all that my mother did growing up: family meals, trips to ball games, rides to soccer practice, reviewing college applications. The best part is that my mother is now a fabulous grandmother. (Not yet a “great grandmother”). She is very much engaged with all her grandchildren, but especially my oldest daughter Eva who is now a student at Fairfax High School. They remind me so much of each other. Well, anyway. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!
