Happy to attend the International Summit on Differentiated Instruction- DIA SUMMIT 2014 organized by Principals Academy, Singapore. Really it is thrilling experience to be one among 600 International delegates from various parts of the globe Like US, EU countries (UK, France, Germany and Denmark), Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, SriLanka, Japan and South Korea. Keynote Sessions and 5 Concurrent Sessions of the first day really amazing. Key Note Speakers Dr. Rich Allen and Kathleen Kryza highlighted on practical teaching techniques which can be used to seize attention, increase engagement and ultimately maximize learning especially among modern hi-tech students who are grown up with Goggle, Social Media and computer games resulting that their brains are hard-wired differently with shorter attention span. Kathleen Kryza pointed out that if the goal education in schools is to cultivate learners who are creative and curious; students need to develop mindsets and skill sets to meet that challenge. Out of 5 concurrent sessions after noon I was again attended the session led by Dr. Rich Allen because his dynamic presentation skills really attracted me to be one among 150 participants attending his session on “Behind Closed Doors: Secrets to Dynamic Instructional Strategies”. This highly practical session explored a series of seldom discussed teaching techniques that can be used effectively at any level to address differentiation issues. Eagerly waiting for tomorrow’s sessions……
