Happy to report that Evies initial drain tonight was once again clear. :-) The mostly likely cause of the blood in her dialysate the two nights prior to this is that a small blood vessel may have broke inside her peritoneum (the membrane which lines the stomach which is used in peritoneal dialysis as a pretend kidney to filter out toxins.) Hard to say what may have caused this, but it probably has something to do with being an active 9 year old. We have appointments at the hospital later this week, so well be able to triple check things. Thank you for all the prayers which you have offered on behalf of Evie, her donor, and our family -- we are blessed.
