This is going to sound like Im bragging. Im not. Im merely shocked by how many people complimented my looks tonight, and I wanted to publicly tell you Im shyly embarrassed but completely appreciative. Ive never been complimented so much in one night on how I look. Here were a few of the things I heard tonight: 1) You look like George Clooneys new wife. Shes gorgeous. Youre gorgeous. Tall, dark hair... 2) You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, and Im not a lesbian, I just need to tell you that Tyra Banks has nothing on you. You walked in here and I nudged my friend, Did you SEE that woman who just walked in here? Shes BEAUTIFUL! 3) Have you heard the words diva and (dammit he used an s word that was like statuesque but wasnt bc the next comment said that, but anyway, s word, and then said, Well you are a diva-s word, and you walked in here, owned the room, and you like, shine... 4) How tall are you? 510 You are beautifully statuesque. Youre gorgeous. You look like George Clooneys new wife. (Yes, heard that twice tonight)) 5) Oh, yeah, you didnt hear us but we were teasing you like, Oh, poor Alyssa. She could get up on stage and not even be able to sing a note, and shed still have the audience wrapped around her little finger. I have never been complimented so much in my life, from what I can remember, between the combination of new fans digging my songs, (Man On the Run, Dont Fight the Love, Two Seconds Away, The Lemonade Song, and, Drowning Me) and how I looked to them. Crazy. It was awkward, I dont know what to do with so many genuinely sweet things being shared my way, but I do know I needed to announce it because it was a stepping stone of this tour. Plus, another MAGNIFICENT night, and that makes two nights in a row. Thank you Sweet Sue, who waited on me, Tera who ran sound, ladies in the round with me, Suzette, Sarah, Ginger and Cathi ( ADORE you ladies! Will be singing with you tomorrow afternoon now at Peoples Park, Steve (announcer), Brent (behind the door), Santa-Paul (who I wanna turn into a stuffed animal for Christmas) and just come sing here ALL THE DAMN TIME. It was so freaking fun. It effected my heart. Its swelling with love right now, I need to calm it down...talk tomorrow, yall ... :)
