Harrisburg, PA November 10th 2013 would bring the first race of the Sunday points series to the hidden raceway in Harrisburg, pa. We had 23 drivers signed in for competition and it was a good day of hard racing at the hidden raceway. The first class to take to the track was NRDB, K&S Vinyl and Graphics, Factory J, Lizzard werks motors 17.5 stock edm class. This is one of our tougher classes and it was once again with 2 tough rounds of heats but when it was all said and done in his first appearance this winter Shawn McCaughey would pick up the Tq honors. The A main would get off to a rocky start but when it all settled out it would be Glenn Pyatt leading this tough field of racers around the ½ way point in the race McCaughey would run down Pyatt and one heck of a battle would be on as the 2 would battle for the next min until tough luck would strike for Pyatt who would catch the hose and flip in turn 1 turning this race over to McCaughey for good. McCaughey would pick up the win, Wayne Groover would charge to second, Glenn Pyatt would settle for third and Gerry Hoagland with tough luck all day would come home fourth , with Brock Garris not making the call in fifth in the A main. The next class up would be the Hidden Hangar Hobbies street stock class. This class had some tough fender rubbing action in the heats but when it was all said and done Rich Green would pick up the TQ honors in street stock. This class does a standing start and on the tone the drivers were off and well so were the marshals. After every one got off rich green would lead the pack but new comer and second generation racer Hannah Davies would run in the second spot. This would be the hottest battle of the race cause for the final 3 min Davies and Rick Failer would battle for the second spot though tough lapped traffic. On lap 14 tough luck would strike tough new comer Connor Failer as he would break a rear axle charging up to the second place battle. At The line it would be Rich Green picking up the win Hannah Davies would hold on for the second spot, Rick Failer would settle for third, Ian Savage would come home fourth, 5th place would go to Tyler McCaughey, and tough luck in sixth place for Connor Failer. The Big K racing Sportsman sprints would be the next class to roll on to the Track. This class was TQed by one Kerry Bolinger with a new track record run with his custom works gbx3. The race would go green and our pole setter would have problems and this would give Jeremy Moyer the chance he needed as he would put his custom works gbx 3 out front. Moyer who has found a home in the new sportsman class would pull out to an impressive lead but Bolinger would slowly chip away at the lead. As the half-way point came Bollinger had run down Moyer and the race was about to be on but bad luck would strike as Moyer would have contact with the back stretch wall and go for a spill this would give Bollinger the lead and he would never look back . Kerry Bollinger would pick up the win, Jeremy Moyer would come home second, and Scott Sander would finish out the podium with Leo Kowalski finishing fourth. This would lead us to the Bullet motorworks, Gray stone Restoration, K&S Vinyl and Graphics, 17.5 spec sprint class. This class would find Scott Davies setting the TQ in the Second round with his hyper drive GFRP Lizzard Werks motors sprint car. The green would Drop and would find all 4 drivers flying around the high banks of the hidden raceway. A tough battle between Davies and Jason Korb would take off after some tough luck Gerry Hoagland would pull pit side. At this point Davies had already set sail and had a ½ track advantage. At the line it would Be Scott Davies picking up the win, Jason Korb would come home second, with Chuck Jennings third and fourth going to Gerry Hoagland. Our Final class of the day would be the Factory J, K&s Vinyl and Graphics, Lizzard werks motors 17.5 spec late model class. This class would find Wayne Groover setting Tq and just falling short of his Tq record. This class would be the most exciting of the day. The race would go green and it wouldn’t take long for Gil Palomino to show he and his BMS car had something to prove after only a few laps Palomino would move by a very fast Glenn Pyatt and set his sights on Groover. Palomino would run Groover down from a straight away back and the two Would battle for the final 3 minutes through very tough lapped traffic several times palomino would get to Groover then they would catch lapped traffic and be forced to work it then with about a minute left in the race the two would get to battle in some open track and several time Palomino would stick his nose under Groover but Groover would have none of it rolling the bottom like a pro and cutting Palomino off at the path every time with about 15 seconds to go Palomino would take his shot in turns 1 and 2 but the two would make contact and when the gathered it back up at the line. Wayne Groover would pick up the win, Palomino would settle for second, third would go to Glenn Pyatt , Jason Wrestler would come home fourth and rounding out the field in fifth would be Bob Savage.
