Has anybody else seen this movie? I just watched the movie 12 Years a Slave. So sad think of the horrible injustices that were done to those who were considered second rate beings even though they feel pain and suffer. My heart was breaking watching it and tears were pouring down my face. Those poor, poor innocents. Such horrific injustices done to them. I couldnt help but think how all of these indignities and injustices done to black humans in the past are still done to non-humans today just because some still consider them second rate beings even though they feel pain and suffer. Forcing them into back breaking labor, beating them if they protest, punishing them if they attempt to escape, breaking their spirit so they dont feel empowered to stand up for themselves, making them perform for people for entertainment, testing all kinds of chemicals on them, whipping them, raping them, killing them, exploiting them in more ways than we can even imagine and simply limiting their freedom because this is what we deem appropriate. All we have to do is imagine a human in place of the non-human we are doing things to in order to understand the injustice being done to them. “If you want to know where you would have stood on slavery before the Civil War, don’t look at where you stand on slavery today.
