Have spent the last several hours reading the first couple hundred pages of the Senate Torture Report. My mind has continually returned to Lyndie England, whom we know from her posing at Abu Ghraib. Remember reading a heartfelt, and heart-rending, profile of her in Joe Bageants superb book, Deer Hunting with Jesus: Dispatches from Americas Class War. She had enlisted to put away some money for college, hoping to become, if memory serves, a storm chaser. Instead, the storm chased her. A couple years in prison followed. She was, of course, as then suspected and now known, only a pawn in their (our) game. But its in the nature of the game that pawns be sacrificed in order to keep the Knights and Bishops and Queens and Kings on the board. huffingtonpost/2014/12/09/senate-torture-report_n_6247726.html?1418142324
