Have you ever seen this plant in Guyana?!? We really want one! This has got to be one of the most amazing plants weve ever heard about and this is one of 4videos and a number of articles weve read over the past couple weeks. It immediately got us thinking about the nutrition available to people in poor neighborhoods across Guyana, especially in the hinterland regions. Currently there is a cassava bread and peanut butter feeding program but thats mainly what it consists of and theres no way to derive ones RDA from such a meal. Malnutrition affects someone in many ways and for a child it can impede their ability to learn effectively thus putting obstacles across their path out of poverty through education. From all accounts this is one hardy tree that can keep on giving and is easy to propagate. Weight for weight, each 100g of Moringa contains up to 4 times the vitamin A in carrots, 7 times the vitamin C in an Orange, almost 4 times the calcium in milk, 3 times the potassium in banana and 2 times the protein in cows milk. In the global fight against poverty and hunger this is a fantastic tool. Why have you not heard about it from the Ministry of Agriculture? Well if you saw their research facility @ N.A.R.I youd be surprised if anything innovative came out of those guys at all... it looks like a dump. Hope de minister deh pun dis page yeh, Guyana could benefit from a plant like this. Have a look around you, if it already grows in Guyana, and theres a possibility it does, then one of you may have seen it. Later today well share some amazing things we learned about the Almond Nut tree... the same one growing on your street.
