Have you heard this scripture in Proverb 27:17, Iron sharpens - TopicsExpress

Have you heard this scripture in Proverb 27:17, Iron sharpens Iron. Do we really know what it means to do this. When iron blades are rubbed together, each becomes sharper and thus more effective. I believe that if we are involved in each others lives mutual edification occurs. There are a lot of instructions concerning how believers should relate with one another. Let me give us a few of them: Galatians 6:19, We are to do good to each other, Galatians 6:2, bear each others burdens, Colossians 3:13, forgive each other, Galatians 6:1;James 5:19-20, restore each other, Ephesians 5:21, submit to one another, 1 Thessalonians 5:11, encourage each other, Colossians 3:16; Hebrews 3:13, admonish and exhort each other, Romans 14:19, pursue peace and mutual up-building, and stir one another on to love and good deeds Hebrews 10:24-25). The body of Christ, believers, should be encouraging and edifying one another. When they do, they are like iron sharpening iron, Each believer becomes more effective in his calling. He comes to know God more and to more effectively carry out the good works for which he has been made (Ephesians 2:10). SO, I ASK THE QUESTION, IS IT ENOUGH TO JUST PRAY FOR MY BROTHER WHEN THEY NEED HELP AND I CAN HELP
