Have you noticed, seems to me, that the camera lights and writing ink on and abotu ISIL have been pretty much turned off or gone dry due to the now catastrophic nature of Ebola in America? I say that with a significant degree of sarcasm for in shifting attention from the enemy THAT IS THERE IN FRONT OF US, ISIL, this lifting of focus by the media is a lift for our POTUS. Then with all this horrific mess underway and worsening by the day, I see where he is about to use my airplane, Air Force One, to go on the campaign trail next week. That, frankly, baffles me. We, America are at war, I think, and the triggers and crafters of that war, the White House and Congress are away from the Situation Room from which intelligence is gleaned supposedly and decisions are made on execution and prosecution of this war footing we are on. So as sick as it sounds, I cannot esacpe this sense that Ebola in America is either a major coincidence or has been made a major distraction from the much more potent and pertinent threat to the Homeland. I do not want to think nor believe that but all evidence to the contrary, I cannot not begin to process that. Speaking of baffled, I still do not understand how the most powerful militaries on earth are being outplayed by a rag tag, we thought, mercenary nutjob Army which they are proving not to be. When I see evidence of their military hardware given time and space to move their equipment in readiness for bombruns, my conspiratorial brain is triggered again that there actually could be something sinister in this whole matter. See, I want to believe America is sacrosanct in all our dealings, that truth and transparency reigns in all aspects of our global reach; I really want to believe that! However, this ISIL thing has dragged on already far too long, the level of stoppage and degradation and destruction POTUS spoke about is simply not happening even with the millions per day of US taxpayer ordnance being dropped on this supposed lucrative, high value targets. Yet we still see a masterful media machine, ISIL, making us like like we are fighting the Civil War instead of a more lethal and efficient twenty-first century campaign. Why is that? I post this uplifting article from todays NY Times as quaint reminder of the REAL AND PRESENT enemy that is before us and we are losing to. We either have forgotten how to prosecute a war or there is intentional grounding of the ball to use an NFL metaphor. nytimes/2014/10/03/opinion/the-fundamental-horror-of-isis.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&module=c-column-top-span-region®ion=c-column-top-span-region&WT.nav=c-column-top-span-region&_r=0
