Head of #Operational_Risk #Kuwait #Job Description: Overview: •To develop, maintain and lead a highly effective Operational Risk function for the Group. •To advice and consult with senior management regarding the need to implement appropriate Risk Management practices within the business operational areas. •To work with internal and external audit functions in order to demonstrate the company compliance with defined operational risk management standards. Accountabilities: •Develop and monitor implementation of Operational Risk Framework for the identification, assessment, monitoring, control/mitigation and reporting of the operational risks across the Group. •Monitor, design, implementation, evaluation of, Risk Control Self Assessment Process, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and tolerance levels. •Control Incident and Operational Loss data collation. •Monitor review, analyze, enhance and update policies, procedures and processes for managing operational risk in all of the bank’s material products, activities, processes and systems. •Operational risk assessment review of new products, new or changed activities, processes and systems. •Monitor maintenance of database of business processes, risks, controls, mitigation measures and historical losses (internal/external) on a bank-wide basis. •Contribute to raising operational risk awareness and culture throughout the bank and the business lines and provide guidelines to business units in enabling them to identify risks and develop necessary controls and processes to manage those risks. •Develop and monitor implementation of Group Outsourcing policy & Ensure that outsourcing risks are managed. Desired Profile: •Relevant degree with majors in finance or accounting and a professional qualification (FRM,) is a must. •Risk Management degree and MBA is a plus. •More than 12 years experience in financial institutions, internal audit and external audits with a focus on operational risk and audits. •Understanding of Basel Operational Risk Management and Compliance Framework. •Strong influential and management skills and experience of developing and implementing sophisticated business processes. •Strong analytical and problem solving skills in multi location/geographic complex organizations. •Experience in multi tasking, working alone or with groups.
