Heavenly Father… If can be difficult for us to feel heart-broken over the things that break Your heart… If it does not directly affect us…or does not somehow strike an emotional chord within in us… Likewise…it can be difficult to pray for strangers with whom we have no emotional bond with…nor even an image of their face in our minds… We get so caught up in our own trials…that we are sometimes blind to the often more severe trials being experienced by those around us…and especially by those at a distance from us… Because we love You so much…we long to please You…and we want to join with You in Your grief over the broken things of Your world…the world that You created with such tremendous love and great care…now tainted and broken by our sin... Create within each of us the ability to join with You in Your sorrow…even when such things often do not directly affect us… Please sensitize our hearts and souls to all the things that grieve Yours…for without Your direct intervention…we will often remain indifferent…and sometimes even hardened or blind…to the devastation that decimates the existence of others… Please soften our inner beings to the point where our tears begin to flow…and mingle with Yours…
