Hello Cameroon, I am Micheal Kimbi Tchenga! This is week 4 of my YALI experience. I will have the privilege later today to visit the Little Rock Central High School which made history in 1957 as arena of a tussle to reverse racial segregation in school. Nine (09) African Americans were at the centre of the battle between Federal Government led by President Eisenhower (who wanted the students in class) and Arkansas State government led by Governor Orval Faubus who resisted desegregation in schools. Also, actively engaged as well in the historic debacle, were the PEOPLE. The Little Rock Nine became famous because of the will of a people to enjoy greater freedoms in the access to education. And they went all the way to make their voice heard. What must the ordinary Cameroonian do to make his/her voice count? How can we get Cameroonians to become more engaged in the way they are governed? Hope to read your views at the top of the hour.
