Here are my updates of our own activities as private sector volunteers: Over the last 24 hours, we raised private funds for a generator and freezer that will travel by land to EVRMC in Tacloban. This is in response to the urgent appeal of Dr Aileen Espina for pasteurized donor milk for her hospital. Just this afternoon, we also located a hospital in Northern Cebu that is willing to house the foster milk for back-up in their LMT and IFE activities. At the Villamor Airbase, we will be manning a station for the evacuees that have been airlifted out of Tacloban. Just this morning, a mother came off the plane and got handed formula in a bottle. When Team Unang Yakap docs interviewed her, she said that she delivered in EVRMC, had UY care and was exclusively breastfeeding her baby. She would not be bottle feeding her baby. Current stockpiles of breast milk already pasteurized: In Fabella 30 liters In PGH - 24 liters I do not have the inventory for the 3 other banks: PCMC, Makati HMB and Zamboanga City Med Center HMB. Breast milk drives are ongoing in Davao, Cagayan de Oro, and Iligan aside from Metro Manila. We miss you, Elham! How are you?
