Hello everyone. STATUS UPDATE: I AM OK-ish Phone remains damaged. *though you can still send texts but must wait until I have access to a PC to review messages. At this point, I have not yet decided whether I wish to extend, renew or let my current cellular contract expire. So far I have not noticed MUCH difference between having and not having a phone. There was a time when having that phone operable was absolutely necessary. Now, not so much. I dont know about you but $200 extra in my pocket every month will go a very long way towards improvement in my quality of life. Right now, that is just TOO MUCH $$ JUST to be attached to Facebook 24/7. I will decide by December, what, if anything I will do. I know that if I am giving this issue every serious consideration, many of you are likely to be as well. SOOOOOOO. Given how the advent of cell phones, smart-phones and Facebook have affected ALL of our lives, I think that this is indeed a VERY good time to consider what are the important things in our lives. I think (I have a lot of time to do that ya know) that, like me, people are beginning to grow weary of being connected 24/7. Our lives; every moment of every day, are being recorded... BY OUR VERY OWN SELVES!. FAR too many people already have the ability to know too much about you. I dont want to make it any easier. Besides, I rather enjoy interacting with you in person more often than digitally. IF it is true that Big Brother is already here, we can take control of him and our own lives again by saying The (literal) B$CK stops here I have a sneaky suspicion that if people began to LIVE their lives again, there would be a sea-change in our attitudes and quality of our daily lives. So, thats whats up. Next time you go for that $10 pack of cigarettes or $7 gallon of milk and stand there in disbelief at how the cost of living has gone up this far, this fast and without you even noticing, remember, we were too busy updating our status on Facebook to give a damn. I think that as more people begin to wake up and realize what we have all allowed to happen and how we have actively (if unknowingly) participated in our own societal downfall, companies that capitalize on social networks will begin to go the way of the Do DO bird and Myspace Now THERE is HOPE AND CHANGE we can ALL believe in
